The Hunger Games
Can you imagine how you would feel if your little sister was chosen and forced to compete in a game where losing meant death? You’d probably feel the same way Katniss Everdeen did when her younger sister was selected for the annual Hunger Games. Then, as any other sibling would, Katniss stepped up and took her sister’s place as the girl “tribute” in the Hunger Games. Each district’s tributes were pitted against each other in games in which the goal was to kill the other tribute. What will happen to Katniss?
I love this book because I enjoy science fiction. This book is part of a series and has been adapted into a film, which was released in the spring of 2012. This book is unlike any other I’ve read because the author takes the risk of making one of the main themes about government control in people’s lives. I don’t have a favourite part of the book because I enjoyed everything about it.
I would absolutely recommend this book because it is an excellent Sci-Fi novel. Readers should be at least in the middle school range, in my opinion. I believe the plot, characters, and setting would appeal to Science Fiction readers and fans!
