The Herdmans have returned! The Herdmans are the worst students in the history of Woodrow Wilson School, and you will laugh at their pranks and funny antics. Every chapter contains one humorous page after another. You will not be able to put this book down once you begin reading it.
My favourite part of the story is when the school has a talent show and one of the Herdmans challenges Eugene Preston to crush walnuts against his forehead!! Imogene Herdman came up with the idea of putting butter on Howard’s head after he got it stuck between the bike rack poles. She is the only Herdman in the story who appears to change by showing she can be nice. This book stands out because it is unlike any other I’ve read. It’s unique because not many books feature characters who will take their cat to the laundromat to be washed, as well as children who smoke cigars, burn down buildings, and swear. The Best School Year Ever is a fantastic book that most readers, including adults, will enjoy. I laughed a lot while reading the book because some of the things the characters did were hilarious.
I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading about children who do strange and unusual things. I think someone who is a bully would enjoy this book because the Herdmans were bullies to people who weren’t like them.
